What was your first job?
My first job was a cashier at Steve & Barry’s. I remember my father coaching me, driving me to the interview and everything. I’d dressed super professional and practiced my answers all day and night. I was so happy and proud to get the job. Much later I learned my father had gone in and spoken to the manager prior to. That’s one of my favorite memories of my father. Both his presence in my life and his dedication to it. So much of him lives in me.
If you weren’t a musician, what would you be doing?
I honestly can’t imagine myself being anything other than a singer / artist. And anything I WOULD be, I’m doing now for supplemental income. I think if I had to choose an answer unrelated to anything I do, it would be a lawyer.
What did you eat today?
Way too much! I wouldn’t dare reveal it all. But I’m currently enjoying a fabulous pizza from Marty’s Hops & Vines with a lovely glass of Lubanzi sparkling wine.
What is your favorite place to grab a bite?
If I’m treating myself: Atwood. If I’m just grabbing a quick bite at a good price: Wild Ginger.
What is a skill or talent that you’ve always wanted to learn?
Computer coding. Playing the violin and the drums. Photography.
What inspires you to create?
Love, life and everything in between.

Atomic Habits by James Clear and Parable of The Talents by Octavia Butler
Any movies or shows you’d recommend?
Harry Potter films are perfect for this season. The Menu is a great film if you haven’t seen it. The Curious Case of Benjamin Button is one of my all time favorites. The Matrix trilogy will forever reign in my heart.
What are you currently working on or have recently completed?
I am currently working on two music projects. I’m very excited about the story I’m telling. I don’t have much more to share on that but I can’t wait to share it with the world.
What is something you’re passionate about?
My son. He’s literally my heart outside of my body.
When you were little, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I’ve always just wanted to sing.
What are your music go tos?
My musical taste is vast. To name a few: Beyonce, The Beatles, The Isley Brothers, Drake, Kendrick Lamar, Adele, Anita Baker, Toni Braxton, Nai Palm, Paramore, Jill Scott and so much more.
Know any good podcasts?
Deepak Chopra has a great podcast as does Eckhart Tolle. The Adult Chair is great. But I love a good pop culture podcast as well like The Read.
How do you define success in your creative pursuits?
Success to me is creating something I authentically feel and having others feel it and appreciate it in their own ways. I believe my art should inspire. And if it does, I’ve done my job well.
Describe your best day ever?
Doing whatever I want to do in that moment with someone I love deeply. Sharing love is a day well spent.
