ANGIE LIPSCOMB | PHOTOGRAPHER | CINCINNATI, OH
What was your first job?
I was a rides operator at Coney Island for four summers.
If you weren’t a photographer, what would you be doing?
A hard one to answer…I have always loved animals and wanted to work with them in some capacity.
What did you eat today?
Sourdough, avocado, vegan chili, cornbread, an orange, protein powder in my coffee, and possibly a gallon of ginger tea.
What is your favorite place to grab a bite?
I’m a happy girl if I’m eating curry or tacos!
What is a skill or talent that you’ve always wanted to learn?
Woodworking.
What inspires you to create?
I think mostly it’s that I want to hold onto a feeling. The bonus is sharing it with others.
What are you reading at the moment?
I have an incurable habit of reading multiple books at once. Currently on my nightstand: A Peace To End All Peace, Tell Me Everything, The Song of the Cell. I just finished Trust.
Any movies or shows you’d recommend?
I bounce around a lot. Recently watched Will and Harper and loved it.
What are you currently working on or have recently completed?
I am very slowly amassing portraits of neighbors that I hope to collect into a printed piece at some point. Also, I’m working with my hands more—there is a lot of yarn and macrame cord in my house at the moment.
What is something you’re passionate about?
Finding joy, love, connection wherever I can.
When you were little, what did you want to be when you grew up?
A member of the US Equestrian Team (my horse was sadly an imaginary one), a veterinarian, or an artist.
What are your music go tos?
I can’t possibly choose, but I do love a good sad song.
Know any good podcasts?
I have listened to every episode of Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend. Laughter is my favorite release.
How do you define success in your creative pursuits?
Moving forward.
Describe your best day ever?
I wrote and rewrote dozens of responses to this question, because it changes…but a great day pretty consistently includes family, friends, some music, and a dog or two.
